To remove and install a suspension shock absorber in a Chevrolet Captiva (2006-2018), begin by safely lifting and supporting the vehicle on jack stands to access the suspension components. Identify the shock absorber to be replaced and locate its mounting points on the suspension system. Using the appropriate tools, such as wrenches or sockets, loosen and remove the bolts or nuts securing the upper and lower ends of the shock absorber. Carefully detach the shock absorber from its mounting points and remove it from the vehicle.
When installing the new shock absorber, ensure it matches the specifications of the old one and is compatible with your Captiva's suspension system. Position the new shock absorber into place, aligning it with the upper and lower mounting points on the suspension. Securely fasten the upper and lower ends of the shock absorber using the appropriate bolts or nuts, and torque them to the manufacturer's specified values. Double-check the installation to ensure the shock absorber is securely mounted and aligned properly with the suspension components for optimal performance and safety.
